We know you.  You’re an accounting whiz who values your work/life balance as much as you love the impact your prowess with numbers can make on a business.  Being a number-crunching superhero can require intense focus which is why you need plenty of flexibility and time for family, hobbies and whatever else life throws your way.  We understand all this because providing great accountants with remote, work-from-home opportunities where they can still make a tremendous impact on our small to mid-sized business clients has been at the core of our DNA since we opened our (virtual, even back then!) doors in 2004. Unlike other organizations who view the virtual, work-from-home phenomena as a temporary pandemic fix, we will never ask you to return to a physical office.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Leverage your existing accounting and finance skills to literally “delight” our small to mid-sized business clients who outsource their accounting related functions to us. They’re counting on us!  
  • We provide a wide range of services, from basic bookkeeping up to full financial planning and analysis to give our clients greater insight into their business. The more experience you have providing budgeting, forecasting, reporting and other higher-level Controller responsibilities, the better fit you will be for this opportunity.  Along with this come traditional staff accountant level or even general bookkeeper, day-to-day responsibilities like payroll, accounts payable/receivable, etc.  The point is, we tailor our services to best fit the needs of our clients.   
  • You’re not doing any of this on your own! Just because you’re virtual doesn’t mean you are alone.  You’ll be working with a supportive manager and will be part of a broader team of like-minded professionals.  You’ll also enjoy tapping into our resources such as an online knowledge base and technical support team!
  • Stay current on the latest cloud-based accounting technology!
  • Oh! By the way, you get to do all of the above in your comfiest work-out attire, from your home office, while sipping on a hot cup of chai tea you just fixed for yourself.  (Note: Work-out clothes not recommended for the occasional team video meeting and client calls.)

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability to provide accounting and finance support (FP&A, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, closing the books on a monthly basis, A/P, A/R, payroll, etc.)
  • Experience using QuickBooks and related platforms on a day-to-day basis would be great!
  • A sense of personal satisfaction derived from making a difference in the lives of small to mid-sized business owners through demonstrating your expertise.
