Responsibilities

The Details...

As the Payroll Administrator, you will oversee the payroll functions of assigned clients of varying sizes and across varied geographical locations. You will ensure that client payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. You will also Partner regularly with other People Operations Team members in execution of services and furtherance of client delight.

Generally, duties include:

  • Implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates in coordination with People Operations Associate
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions and other payroll-related data as requested
  • Registering new state and local tax accounts as needed and maintaining information within payroll system
  • Reconciling and paying benefits-related invoices and processing other benefits-related transactions (401K, flexible spending, etc.) independently or in tandem with assigned broker
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Facilitating audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Overseeing end of year payroll and tax-related processes including reviewing and distributing W-2 documents
  • Communicating with client team members and/or People Operations Team as needed to educate and answer questions pertaining to payroll matters

  • You have solid problem-solving and analytical skills
  • People would describe you as highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • You’re comfortable with acclimating to and “owning” payroll technologies

 

What You’ve Done...

  • Attained a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Have 5+ years of experience with high-volume payroll processing
  • If you have experience with client-facing payroll service across different states and industries you’re definitely a rockstar!
